BiographyKrista Weiss, Clarinet
Krista Weiss is the Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at Northern Kentucky University and an active freelancer in the Cincinnati area. Ms. Weiss has played with professional ensembles across the Midwest including recent performances with the Cincinnati Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Dayton Philharmonic, Louisville Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic, Indianapolis Opera, and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. In addition to orchestral playing, Ms. Weiss also enjoys an active career as a studio musician and can be heard on numerous Concert Band recordings for the Hal Leonard Corporation. Ms. Weiss received both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Clarinet Performance from Indiana University, where she was a student of Eli Eban. Since 2013 she has served as an Artist Clinician for D’Addario Woodwinds, traveling across the country to present masterclasses on woodwind equipment, pedagogy, and fundamentals at public schools, colleges, and music conferences. Prior to her appointment at NKU, Ms. Weiss previously taught at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN. As a private studio teacher and sectional coach she has taught extensively throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana and currently maintains a large private teaching studio in the Cincinnati area. krista.diggs@gmail.com |
