Jonathan Wiseman, Trumpet
Jonathan Wiseman is a trumpet player, educator, and composer/arranger based in the Cincinnati area. As a performer, Jonathan regularly performs with large and small jazz ensembles including the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, Blue Wisp Big Band, Flying Circus Big Band, The Original Farm League Big Band, Cincy Brass, as well as his own quartet. Prior to relocating to Cincinnati, Jonathan maintained an active schedule as a performer in both classical and jazz settings, performing with groups such as the North State Chamber Orchestra, the Raleigh Civic Symphony, Tune Avenue Brass Quintet, Intrepid Brass, and the Piedmont-Triad Jazz Orchestra. Jonathan also spent time touring the US and Canada with Natural Wonder, a Stevie Wonder Tribute. As an educator, Jonathan taught jazz improvisation courses and jazz combos during his graduate studies at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. From 2015-2018 he served as music instructor at The Enrichment Center, a community college program for adults with disabilities. Jonathan holds a Master of Music in Jazz Studies Degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Classical Trumpet Performance Degree from the University of North-Carolina at Greensboro.
