Betty Douglas, Flute and Piccolo
Ms. Douglas holds a Master of Music Degree from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music from the State University of New York at Potsdam. Betty performed 3rd flute/ piccolo with the Lexington Philharmonic for 6 years, and 2nd flute in the Charleston Symphony Orchestra (SC). Locally, Ms. Douglas has performed with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra; Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony; and Richmond Symphony; as well as School House Symphony, a seven-member chamber ensemble. An accomplished piccoloist, Ms. Douglas was the winner of the National Flute Association Piccolo Competition held in New York, NY. In addition to performing, Ms. Douglas taught flute at Earlham College (IN) and at Northern Kentucky University and currently has a private studio in Northern Kentucky.
