7th Grade Band

The concert band is the foundation of every instrumental musical experience that we do here in the band program. In Concert Band we learn the fundamentals of what it is to be a great musician. We focus on tone production and musicality from the very beginning, encouraging students to always make the best sounds they can achieve, while continually developing the technical mastery needed to be successful as a musician.

7th Grade Band builds on the foundations learned in 6th grade. However, if you were not in band in the 6th grade and would like to give it a try in 7th grade don't hesitate to sign up! You will need to get caught up and we can help you to do that as long as you have a great attitude and are willing to work hard. In this second year of band students will be exposed to higher levels of music that will challenge them in new ways. Middle School is a time for discovery and students will differ on their interest level and that is okay! If you want to learn music as a fun way to express things, GREAT! If you hope to one day become a professional musician, GREAT! No matter the level, we have a spot for you here in band and we will work together toward a common goal of excellence!
